Gravity Light : No Batteries Needed

Gravity Light For Off Grid

Gravity Light is an innovative device that generates light from gravity. There are no costs to run it, available anytime, no need for sunshine or batteries. The inventors are Jim Reeves and Martin Riddiford.

The Birth Of The Gravity Light

Gravity Light stemmed from the challenge by the charity Solar Aid to design an Led lantern to replace harmful kerosene lamps. The challenge was to develop a light with a solar panel and battery under $5.00. The designers realized the key would be to design a light that did not need batteries.

Weights And Gravity

Martin looked to weights and gravity. He first proved the concept with a rig of bicycle wheels, chains and a hand crank, proving it could work. After many years and prototypes later, Gravity Light is almost ready to launch.

Just Add Sand or Gravel

Gravity Light will come with a bag that you need to add sand or gravel to which will add the weight. It takes only 3 seconds to lift the weight that powers Gravity Light creating 25 minutes of light on its descent.
