Northwind Arts Center is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization dedicated to promoting the arts in the Northwest region by sponsoring educational programs, lectures, readings, and workshops, and by providing juried and invitational venues for displaying the work of regional artists, both visual and literary. Our vision is to be an anchor for the arts in Port Townsend and the greater Northwest region. In 2014 , with the financial support of the community, the arts center purchased the ground floor of an historic downtown Port Townsend building to relocate its home. We plan to grow our programming to include more arts education for youth, artist talks and lecture series, a vibrant adult workshop and art demonstration schedule, and music and performance series.

Port Townsend’s School Of Woodworking
Their mission is to inspire a lifelong passion for craftsmanship through education in woodworking and traditional building trades. They pool over 30 educators allowing a combination of 12-week courses and a diverse selection of shorter courses for woodworkers at various skill levels. They offer a course for women intended to breakdown barriers to becoming woodworkers; and they are seeding the next generation through summer camps for youth.
Wow, I would like to transport myself there right now out of all this cold weather and snow and click my heels, close my eyes and it is summer! What a beautiful area to live in. I have not even scratched the surface of what there is to do there.
